Children have their own versions of The Three Musketeers, often as animated series. The 1991-92 version of The Three Musketeers, for example, featured D’Artagnan as a black-and-white dog. Some version introduce surprising contributors, as was the case of French singer-songwriter Michel Polnareff who performed the soundtrack for the 1974 film D’Artagnan l’Intrépide.
Major children’s animation studios have likewise taken on the story. In 1993 Disney produced a version starring Mickey Mouse as D’Artagnan, while other well-loved children’s characters have adapted the myth in one-off episodes, such as The Three Smurfsketeers (1982) and Tom and Jerry in The Two Mouseketeers (1952).
