This is the great collision of myths, with comics bringing together the French superhero and his distant American descendants. Superman, Batman and others have appeared alongside the musketeer, while in the present day d’Artagnan has traveled through time to join Mickey Mouse. More generally, The Three Musketeers are frequently recycled in modern science fiction and fantasy novels — literary genres that did not even appear until long after Dumas — often in very convincing ways.
