Tartagnan, Ducktargnan, Dogtanian, D’Artacan and Company

As with all universal pop culture figures, comedians have had a field day with d’Artagnan. Parodies, satires and spoofs have proliferated since the very start, with the musketeer appearing in various animal forms such as dogs, mice and so on, especially in children’s productions. Tartagnan often returns as a clumsy, bumbling musketeer, while Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Tom and Jerry, Bibi Fricotin, Bob and Bobette and many others have all taken on Dumas’ hero in their own way.
